Data Analyst

The Data Analyst will support the Information Technology department by overseeing the Office’s proprietary case management system (“Damion”).  The Data Analyst will be responsible for providing timely and detailed analytical information and procedural guidance relating to the collection, analysis, and presentation of prosecution data maintained in the Damion system.  Responsibilities will include meeting internal and external reporting demands and identifying methods to improve the accuracy and completeness of information that is entered into the system. This full-time position requires an extremely hardworking, innovative, organized individual who possesses expertise in interpreting and analyzing criminal justice system data.  The position requires both great attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to manage SQL databases and other types of large data sets.

Juvenile Diversion Coordinator

The Juvenile Diversion Program is designed to work with eligible young people as an alternative to prosecution. The program operates under a pre-arraignment model. In lieu of prosecution, diversion allows a young person the opportunity to complete an individually-tailored program which may include a combination of conditions such as educational programs, counseling, community service, letters of apology, and restitution. Participation in the diversion program is voluntary and requires a youth to accept responsibility for their conduct and engage in the program to the best of their ability. The Juvenile Diversion Coordinator is an Assistant District Attorney assigned to the Juvenile Diversion program with responsibility for reviewing and handling all new referrals to the program.

Administrative Assistant for Child Protection Unit

This position provides administrative support to the Child Protection Unit. The Administrative Assistant plays an important role assisting with the administration and management of intake, investigation, referral and prosecution phases of cases.This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated individual that enjoys being part of a fast paced office, is able to multi-task, re-prioritize regularly, has an unwavering attention to detail, and enjoys working within the criminal justice system and in different environments.  The successful candidate will professionally represent the MDAO in communications with other state and local agencies within the scope of this position; exercise maturity, discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive and confidential information; take initiative when appropriate; but also be able to take direction and meet deadlines.

Administrative Assistant

This position involves interaction with attorneys, law enforcement agencies, court personnel, the public, state agencies, and others on a wide variety of issues and supports a wide range of responsibilities. The administrative assistant provides overall critical administrative support to Assistant District Attorneys and other professional staff of the Middlesex District Attorney's Office. Assistant District Attorney

Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs) are appointed by the District Attorney to represent the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in criminal proceedings in Middlesex County. They are responsible for all pre-trial, trial, and post-conviction matters in assigned cases. ADAs prosecute a range of misdemeanor and felony cases in the Juvenile, District and Superior Courts. They represent the Commonwealth in bail arguments, substantive motions, plea negotiations, both jury and jury-waived trials, and appellate proceedings.

Operations Assistant

The Operations Assistant supports the Director of Operations and Security in various assigned tasks with a primary focus on mail room activities, courier service, and case file tracking and archiving. This full time position requires a hard working, organized individual who can balance a fast paced demanding work environment, and who has a demonstrated aptitude for administrative and operational matters.

Paralegal

Paralegals are the central liaison for local police departments, the Massachusetts State Police (MSP), the MSP Crime Lab and other state and federal agencies. Paralegals support Assistant District Attorneys, local police department investigators and the State Police assigned to the Office by assisting with case-related matters from the initial investigations through to trials. A Paralegal Certificate is not required.

Victim Witness Advocate

The primary goal of the Victim Witness Bureau is to reduce the level of secondary injury associated with the aftermath of crime and to aid in the prosecution of criminal cases by ensuring that crime victims and witnesses are provided with the entitlements and services mandated by the Massachusetts Victim Bill of Rights (M.G.L. c. 258B), and those additional services provided as a policy of the Bureau within the office of the Middlesex District Attorney. Victim Witness Advocates are primarily responsible for providing information, support, and advocacy services to victims, witnesses and their families throughout the criminal justice process.
