Conviction Integrity

The Middlesex District Attorney's Office is committed to ensuring the integrity and justness of convictions obtained by this Office.  Below is the Conviction Integrity Program ProtocolGuidelines for Responding to Motions for Forensic Testing, procedure materials and a sample proposed order for testing concerning post-conviction integrity and our Office’s response to post-conviction motions for forensic testing pursuant to M.G.L. c. 278A.

Officer Involved Shootings

This Office investigates all officer involved shootings, and our practice is to make the reports relevant to those investigations are also publicly available on this website under "Reports and Findings". A document including a collection of these reports is also posted here.

Police Discovery Protocols

The Middlesex District Attorney's Office has an ethical obligation to disclose potentially exculpatory information relating to allegations of police misconduct and internal affairs (“IA”) investigations.  Below is the working protocol for thoughtfully and consistently analyzing these discovery issues with an eye toward our legal and ethical responsibilities.  This memorandum is intended to summarize the general working protocol and approach that has been in place in this office regarding discovery of officer misconduct and/or IA investigations that may rise to the level of exculpatory evidence.
