WOBURN – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Middlesex Partnerships for Youth, Inc., are pleased to announce that Cheyanne Thistle, a 10th grader from at Nashoba Valley Technical High School in Pepperell has been named the winner of the fourth annual Poster Project for her submission titled “Self Confidence”.  See the winning posters here,

The annual Poster Project, sponsored by District Attorney Ryan and Middlesex Partnerships for Youth, Inc., encourages students to create a poster that shares a positive message for fellow teens.  This year’s theme was “Write the Story You Want to Tell”. More than 77 posters from middle and high school students in Middlesex County were submitted.

“This year’s theme was about empowering students to reflect on who they are and who they want to become,” said District Attorney Ryan. “The posters submitted encourage students to write their own story and focus on self-discovery, confidence, goal-setting, and good decision making. Every student who submitted a poster should be proud of the work they have done to spread positive messages to their peers.”

Honorable Mention Awards were given to Tyler Millan, a junior from Minuteman Tech who submitted a poster called “Shut Your Addiction Down”; Adam Rubinic, a junior from Nashoba Tech who submitted a poster called “Walk Your Own Path”; and a group of students from Shawsheen Tech (Sarah Bavota, Kristin Brown, Chloe Doyle, Sarah King, Kasey Mearls, Kathryn Milliken, Brooke Morrissey, Michael Moriconi, Gabriella Paolicelli, Matt Pereira, Jade Piracha, Jack Rettman, Ashley Robson, Hope Splaine, Amanda Tinker, Matt Troisi, Makayla Martinez) who submitted a poster called “Hit Me, Hit Me Not”.

The winners were selected by a panel of judges which included art teachers, police officers, school administrators, and staff of the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and Middlesex Partnerships for Youth.
