Waltham Man Arraigned For Alleged Indecent Assault And Battery On A Child

WOBURN - Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan and Waltham Chief of Police Keith MacPherson have announced that Victor Lopez, 37, of Waltham was arraigned today on a charge of indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14. Waltham District Court Judge Gregory Flynn today set bail at $3,000 cash and ordered Lopez to surrender his passport, stay away from the alleged victim and witnesses, have no unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16, and stay away from all Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation pools. The next scheduled court hearing is Monday, August 10.

On Saturday, July 11, the Waltham Police Department was contacted by personnel at the Connors Pool, 330 River Street, Waltham by a staff member who had received a report that a man inappropriately touched a minor while the minor was swimming in the pool. The defendant was arrested at the scene.

The charge against this defendant is an allegation and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

This incident is being investigated by the Waltham Police Department and Massachusetts State Police.
