Two Adults Identified Who Died Following Waltham Fire

WOBURN - Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan has announced the identities of two adults who died following a fire at a home on Ash Street in Waltham this morning. Eric Miller, 49, was found deceased at the scene and Elizabeth Miller, 75, was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital.

"This tragic loss of life remains under investigation," said District Attorney Ryan. "While any number of issues could have led to this fire, incidents like this serve as a reminder to all of us to make sure smoke detectors are in working order and to do our part to shovel out fire hydrants to help First Responders get water on a scene as quickly as possible."

State Fire Marshal Stephen D. Coan said, "Sadly, these are the 7th and 8th fire deaths of 2015. We urge people to use caution during this difficult weather."

Authorities say the fire which killed mother and son broke out in the single family home at 67 Ash Street just after 3 a.m. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Waltham Fire and Police Departments and State Police assigned to both the Office of the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Office of Middlesex District Attorney Marian T. Ryan.
