Teenager Found Unresponsive In Everett

WOBURN - Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan has announced that a teenager, 18, was found unresponsive in the driveway of a home on Appleton Street in Everett on Saturday, March 7, and the young woman appears to be the victim of an assault.

"This remains an active investigation and our thoughts are with the victim and her family," said District Attorney Ryan, "Unfortunately, this may have been an assault on someone who had been drinking with a group of people at a nearby home and who may have been attacked after leaving that party. Investigators are speaking with individuals who were with the victim in an effort to form a complete picture of what led up to the victim being outside and on the ground when she was discovered."

Everett Police Chief Steven Mazzie added, "Our hope is that we can uncover what occurred to this young lady and pray that she will recover from this tragic incident."

On March 7, at approximately 6:45 a.m., the victim was found unconscious on the driveway of a home at 32 Appleton Street and was then transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston where she was treated for severe hypothermia and listed in "extremely critical" condition.

This case is being investigated by the Everett Police Department and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.
