Suspect In Wilmington Collision With Fire Truck Arraigned

WOBURN – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan has announced that DoreneHanrahan, 46, of Lynn was arraigned in Woburn District Court today on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, and possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Judge Stacey Fortes set bail at $250 cash and Hanrahan was ordered to not drive without a valid license. The next court hearing in Hanrahan’s case is scheduled for Friday, September 4.

Today, at approximately 12:35 a.m., the Wilmington Police Department responded to a call that a Wilmington Fire Truck had been involved in a collision with another vehicle near 363 Middlesex Avenue in Wilmington. After arriving on the scene, officers found the uninjured Hanrahan trapped in her vehicle and first responders using the “Jaws of Life” to remove her from her vehicle. Arresting officers administered a series of field sobriety tests and the Breathalyzer result was .19.

These charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

This incident was investigated by the Wilmington Police Department.

The prosecutor assigned to the hearing today was Assistant District Attorney Tiffany Castillo.
