Statement Regarding Fatal Crash in Everett

At approximately 9:10 p.m. on August 25, Everett Police responded to a report of a crash involving two cars and a moped at the intersection of Broadway and Beacham Street in Everett. The driver of the moped, Joao De Pina Fernandes, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle remained on scene. This is an open and active investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
The crash is being investigated by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Everett Police Department and the Northeast Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section.
