North Reading Man Arraigned For Assault And Battery

WOBURN – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan announced that Peter Walk, 54, of North Reading was arraigned today in Woburn District Court on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.

Judge David Frank set bail at $1,000 cash and ordered the defendant to stay away from, and have no contact with, the victim. The defendant must also surrender his firearms ID card with any firearms and other dangerous weapons in his possession to the North Reading Police. The next scheduled court hearing for Walk is Thursday, September 10.

At approximately 10:43 p.m., on Friday, August 14, North Reading police responded to a report of an assault in the area of Strawberry Lane. The defendant allegedly used a compound bow and arrow to flatten the victim’s front left tire while the victim was driving. The defendant then allegedly confronted the victim after he stopped his truck to inspect the damage to the tire by verbally assaulting him and knocking a baseball cap off of his head.

The North Reading Police Department and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office are investigating this incident.

This charge is an allegation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
