Middlesex District Attorney Office and Lowell Police Investigating Lowell Double Fatal Shooting

LOWELL -- Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent William Taylor informed the public that they are investigating a double fatal shooting in Lowell that took place early this morning.
 
At approximately 2:37am this morning, Lowell Police responded to a call for medical assistance at 105 Andrews Street.  Upon their arrival, police discovered two male victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  
 
Keith Callahan, 35, was discovered at the scene, obviously deceased.  A second victim, identified as Joseph Callahan, 29, was transported to Lowell General Hospital where he later died.  The two men were brothers.
 
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct autopsies to determine the cause and manner of each victim’s death.
 
Lowell Police and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the District Attorney's Office are investigating the cause and circumstances of the shootings.  
 
While the investigation is active and ongoing, there have been no arrests at this time.
