Middlesex DA, Waltham Police Investigating Fatal Shooting

WALTHAM— Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Waltham Police Chief Keith MacPherson announce that officials are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late last night in Waltham.
 
At approximately 10:08 pm Thursday evening, Waltham Police responded to a report of shots fired in the parking lot at 31 Middlesex Circle.  Upon their arrival, police discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot.
 
The victim, Tyler Zanco, 17, of Waltham, was transported to Newton Wellesley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
 
Waltham Police and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the District Attorney's Office are investigating the cause and circumstances of the shooting. 
 
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.  However, at this point, authorities do not believe this was a random attack.
