Medford Man Arraigned On Murder Charge in Superior Court

WOBURN - Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan have announced that Roosslin Altidor, 25, of Medford was arraigned yesterday in Middlesex Superior Court on the charge of murder in connection with a homicide in Cambridge on August 12, 2015.

Clerk Magistrate Michael Sullivan ordered the defendant held without bail and scheduled the next court hearing in this case for Thursday, January 28.

Authorities say that on Wednesday, August 12, at approximately 8:41 p.m., shots were fired in the vicinity of 119 Windsor Street in Cambridge. Rasaun Nichols, 31, of Cambridge, was struck by gunshots while in a vehicle that was departing NewtowneCourt. That vehicle was driven down Main Street toward Kendall Square, where it later stopped. Unsuccessful attempts were made to save Mr. Nichols.

Altidor was indicted by a Middlesex Superior Court Grand Jury on December 7, 2015.

This charge is an allegation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

This case is being investigated by the Cambridge Police Department and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.

The prosecutor assigned to this case is Assistant District Attorney Steve Loughlin. The Victim Witness Advocate is Kristin D’Agnelli.
