Man Found To Be Dangerous/Bail Raised Everett Teen Rape Case

WOBURN - Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan has announced that at a hearing today for Sami Sherif, 18, of Everett a judge found the defendant to be dangerous under the bail statute M.G.L. chapter 276 section 58A. The Court increased bail to $5,000 and set conditions for release, should the defendant make that bail, to include that he is subject to a GPS monitoring with 24 hour confinement to Sherif’s home unless he is attending school and, in addition, Sherif may have no direct/indirect contact with the victim, and have no contact with any potential Commonwealth witnesses. Exclusionary zones were added to the bracelet.

Sherif’s next scheduled court date is Tuesday, April 21.

On Saturday, March 7, at approximately 6:45 a.m., a woman was found unconscious on the driveway of a home at 32 Appleton Street in Everett and a resident of the property says the woman’s clothing was in disarray and blood was found on her and near her. The victim was then transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston where a test at approximately 7:15 a.m., indicated the victim had a blood alcohol level of .237 mg/dl. Medical professionals gave the victim a thirty percent chance of survival and she was unconscious for two days. The victim’s condition steadily improved and she is now home from the hospital.

This case is currently being investigated by the Everett Police Department with the assistance of Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office and in conjunction with the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory.

The prosecutor assigned to this case is Assistant District Attorney Beth Dunigan. The Victim Witness Advocate is Kristen Chamberlain.
