Man Dies After Being Hit By A Plowing Truck In Medford

WOBURN - Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan has announced that a man has died after being hit by a plowing truck in Medford.

Cesar Moya, 60, of Chelsea was struck while walking in a parking lot today at 300 Middlesex Avenue in Medford at approximately 1:30 p.m. Moya was transported to the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston where he died from injuries.

“This incident remains an active investigation," said District Attorney Ryan. “The circumstances surrounding what occurred are still being examined. However, due to the unprecedented weather we are all experiencing, it bears saying that we all need to be mindful of public safety issues as we navigate sidewalks, parking lots, and roads.”

Authorities say Moya had just finished working a shift at the Whole Foods Market Bakery at that location and was leaving work when he was struck. Police have interviewed the driver of the plowing truck, a man from Fall River, who was working at the time for Yerardi Landscape and Design of Medfield. Yerardi has a contract to plow the property.

This incident is being investigated by the Medford Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.
