Man to be Arraigned Today in Connection with Death of Woman in Marlborough

MARLBOROUGH – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Marlborough Chief of Police David Giorgi have confirmed that Daniel Uhlman, 53 of Westborough, has been charged with armed assault to murder a person over 60 and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60 in connection with the death of his mother, Nancy Uhlman, 82 of Westborough.

Yesterday, at approximately 12:38 p.m., Marlborough police arrived on scene at a Lakeside Avenue hotel for an apparent homicide. Upon arrival the suspect, later identified as Daniel Uhlman was placed into custody. 

The preliminary investigation suggests that there was an altercation in the parking lot where Mr. Uhlman, allegedly physically attacked his mother and struck her with her truck.

This is an active and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Marlborough Police. A ruling on the cause and manner of death has not yet been made the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Additional charges are possible.

Mr. Uhlman will be arraigned today in Marlborough District Court. The prosecutors assigned to this case are Megan McGovern and Christopher Tarrant.
