Man Arrested In Connection With Friday Hit and Run in Lowell

LOWELL – Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent William Taylor have announced that Calvin Sousa, 21, of Lowell has been arrested and will be arraigned tomorrow, February 17, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. in Lowell District Court on charges of armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury in connection with the hit and run of a 15 year old male bicyclist that was struck on Friday, February 12, 2016 at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Lawrence Street in Lowell. This is an open investigation and additional charges are anticipated.
The victim is being treated at Boston Children’s Hospital and is currently in stable condition.
