Investigators Seeking to Locate Man Charged in Connection with Fatal Shooting in Lowell

LOWELL – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Barry Golner have announced that investigators have obtained a warrant for the arrest of Rafael Garcia-Rey, 21, in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred on November 15 on Maitland Avenue at Chelmsford Street in Lowell. Garcia-Rey is alleged to have shot Odogwu Ganobi, 26, of Lowell following a verbal altercation about a traffic dispute. 

Garcia-Rey is approximately 5 feet, 7 inches with a slender build. He is known to have ties to both Lowell and Fall River and should be considered armed and dangerous. Any member of the public who sees Garcia-Rey should contact 911 and should not attempt to approach him.  Anyone who believes that they may know the parties involved should not attempt to contact them and should immediately contact law enforcement.
