Fatal Crash Under Investigation in Lincoln

LINCOLN – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lincoln Acting Chief of Police Sean Kennedy have confirmed the ongoing investigation into a fatal crash that occurred at 9:13 a.m. this morning on Route 117 in Lincoln.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the two vehicles were traveling on Route 117 in the area of Sweet Bay Lane when a Jeep Wrangler traveling westbound and a Chevy Silverado traveling eastbound collided head on in the eastbound lane.

The operator of the Jeep Wrangler was transported to Emerson Hospital where she later died.

The passenger of the Jeep Wrangler and the operator of the Chevy Silverado were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Route 117 was closed between Route 126 and the Concord town line following the crash and has now reopened.

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Lincoln Police and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Reconstruction Section.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending family notification.
