Domestic Violence Prevention Conference: Friday, November 21

National Experts To Speak About NFL Incidents, Other Cases, & Prevention

Middlesex District Attorney Marian T. Ryan and Middlesex Partnerships for Youth, Inc. will bring together state and national experts on Friday, November 21, from 8:30am to 12pm, to discuss high-profile domestic violence cases, creative ways to prevent domestic violence, and techniques for responding when incidents occur. 

The “Envisioning a Future Without Violence Conference” will offer a perspective on the role of men and boys in preventing and ending violence against women.  The audience will include teachers, police officers, social workers, members of domestic violence prevention agencies, victim advocates and others. Scheduled speakers include: 

  • Marian T. Ryan, Middlesex District Attorney, who oversees the prosecution of domestic violence crimes and who has initiated prevention programs, including, “Cut It Out,”
  • Esta Soler,a national leader in the field of domestic violence prevention who has served in an advisory capacity to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell,
  • Diane Patrick, First Lady of Massachusetts, a domestic violence survivor who has advocated for prevention programs, and,
  • Dan Lebowitz, Executive Director of the Center for the Study of Sport in Society at Northeastern University, who oversees violence prevention initiatives in the world of sports.
