Cambridge Woman Indicted For Cambridge Homicide

WOBURN – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan announces today that MaliaGomez, 40, of Cambridge, has been indicted by a Middlesex Grand Jury on a charge of murder for the fatal stabbing of Dana Robinson, 46, of Cambridge.

An arraignment date in Middlesex Superior Court has not yet been scheduled.

According to authorities, at approximately 6:23 a.m. on February 2, 2014, Cambridge Police responded to an apartment building at 396 Putnam Avenue on reports of an unconscious man.

When the officers arrived they located the victim on the porch of the building, suffering from a stab wound. Cambridge Police and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office immediately began an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. The victim was transported to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston where he was later pronounced dead.

The defendant and victim were known to each other. It is alleged that the defendant stabbed the victim in her apartment at that location.

The defendant was arrested February 2 and was arraigned February 3 in Cambridge District Court on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, and armed assault with intent to murder. The defendant is currently civilly committed to the Worcester Recovery Center.

These charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The prosecutors assigned to this case are Assistant District Attorneys John McEvoy and Gina Kwon. The Victim Witness Advocate is Kristin D’Agnelli.
