Brockton Man Arraigned On Charges Of Stabbing Three Individuals

WOBURN - Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan has announced that Ali Muhammad, 18, of Brockton, has been arraigned on a charge of armed assault to murder (3 counts) in connection with the stabbings of three individuals in Natick today. Framingham District Court Judge David Frank ordered Muhammad held until a 58ahearing on Monday, March 2.

“This case appears to be an isolated incident,” said District Attorney Ryan. “A group of people were socializing when apparently an argument began and one person was asked to leave the house. Even though the individual left the property, he allegedly returned, a fight began, and then he allegedly pulled out a knife and began using it."

"The suspect and victims were all known to each other and to this department," said Chief James Hicks of the Natick Police Department. "This is clearly not a random act and the residents of Natick and specifically this neighborhood are safe."

At approximately 3:30 a.m., Natick police received a 911 call informing them that three people had been stabbed and a friend was driving the victims to the hospital. Of the three victims, two had injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The third victim was in serious condition and was transported from the hospital to Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

Police say the stabbings occurred at the residence at 16 Harvard Street and that the suspect left the scene on foot. Police were given a description of the suspect and Muhammad was arrested at a public location about a half-mile from the stabbing scene. Authorities say the stabbing occurred after Muhammad had become argumentative at the house gathering and was asked to leave.

These charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The prosecutor assigned to handle this case is Assistant District Attorney Christopher Tarrant. The Victim Witness Advocate is Amanda Zacchilli.
