Arrest Made in Fatal Stabbing in Waltham

WALTHAM – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Waltham Chief of Police Keith MacPherson have confirmed that Jonathan Galindo, 33 of Waltham, was arrested today in connection with the fatal stabbing of Kevin Fitzgerald, 61, that occurred on Halloween night in Waltham.

After a review of the evidence, including forensic evidence from the scene, investigators were able to identify Mr. Galindo.  Investigators also determined that the defendant was allegedly known to the victim.

Mr. Galindo has been charged with murder and is expected to be arraigned in Waltham District Court on Monday.

On October 31, 2020, shortly after 9:00 p.m., Waltham Police received a 911 call from a 61-year-old man reporting that he had been stabbed in his Alder Street residence. The victim, identified as Kevin Fitzgerald, reported to police that he had been attacked by a man that he was unable to identify. Upon arrival police located the injured victim alone in his residence. The victim was transported to Newton Wellesley Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

This is investigation is being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police assigned to that office and Waltham Police.
