3 Waltham Juveniles Indicted as Youthful Offenders in Connection with Armed Robbery

WOBURN – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Waltham Police Chief Keith MacPherson announced today that three juveniles have been indicted as youthful offenders in connection with an armed robbery on August 18.

Joshua Greaves, 16, Anthony Lowe, 15, and Samuel Villanueva-Iglesias, 16, all of Waltham, have each been charged with one count of armed robbery as a youthful offender.

The defendants are scheduled for arraignment on October 17 in the Waltham Juvenile Court.

“We allege the defendants violently beat and robbed the victim,” said District Attorney Ryan.  “The callous nature of this vicious assault is disturbing and frightening.  These serious charges are the result of a diligent and thorough investigation conducted by State Police Detectives assigned to my office and the Waltham Police.”

On August 20, Waltham Police received a report that Thierry Tullus, a Waltham resident, was missing and had last been seen by family members two days earlier.  Police subsequently located the body of Mr. Tullus in his car in Waltham.

State Police assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Waltham Police immediately began an investigation. According to authorities, during that investigation they discovered that the defendants and Mr. Tullus allegedly walked together into a wooded area, near where Mr. Tullus’ body and his car were later found. While there, it is alleged that the teenagers beat and kicked the victim. Defendant Greaves is also alleged to have hit the victim on the head with a rock. Following the assault, it is alleged the teenagers took items from the victim, including an ATM card and a cellphone, and property from his car.

The cause and manner of Mr. Tullus’ death, as well as toxicology testing, are currently pending with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The investigation into the circumstances of the victim’s death is ongoing.

These charges are allegations, and the defendants are innocent until proven guilty.

The prosecutors assigned to this case are Assistant District Attorney Elisha Willis, Assistant District Attorney Kristen Noto and Assistant District Attorney Michael Kaneb. The Victim Witness Advocate is Beth Lane.
