Two Arrested in Relation to Saturday Fatal Lowell Shooting

LOWELL – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent William Taylor have confirmed that two men will be arraigned in relation to the shooting death of Anthony Luna, 24, of Lowell. Christian Tripp-Kirwin, 21, of Lowell, and Joseph Luna, 21, of Lowell, will both be arraigned in Lowell District Court tomorrow and charged with one count of possession of a firearm without a license.

Following the early morning shooting of Anthony Luna, Lowell Police responded to a report of two males fleeing the scene of the shooting on O’Connell Street and Fay Street in Lowell. Authorities located the men on Gorham and Lundberg Street and allegedly located a firearm. The firearm they are alleged to have been in possession of was not the weapon used in the death of Anthony Luna. All three men are known to each other.

The investigation into the shooting death of Anthony Luna is an open and active investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Lowell Police Department and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office
