Statement on Lowell Fatal Shooting

LOWELL - Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent William Taylor have confirmed that at approximately 4:30 a.m. today two men were shot on O’Connell Street and Fay Street in Lowell. One male was transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead and a second male has been transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. We are currently in the preliminary stages of an open and active investigation.
