District Attorney Marian Ryan Donates Narcan to the Lowell Fire Department

District Attorney Marian Ryan today made a donation of the opioid-reversal drug Narcan to Lowell Fire Department Chief Jeffrey Winward.
From February 15-18 the City of Lowell and surrounding communities saw surge in the number of non-fatal opioid-related overdoses. First responders were called to 20 overdoses and Narcan was administered.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office uses revenue collected from drug forfeitures to supply Narcan to police and fire departments, school nurses, athletic directors and first responders throughout Middlesex County at no cost.
