Resources for Boston Marathon Bombing victims

The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office wants to remind the public that the deadline to register for benefits available through One Fund Boston is June 15.

One Fund Boston was established in the wake of the tragic events of April 15, and the days thereafter, to coordinate all charitable donations into one fund to benefit victims. The Fund has set a June 15 deadline by which all claims must be postmarked. Claim forms may be downloaded at onefundboston.org or requested by calling 866-298-2951. The Fund will review claims and begin distribution of monies starting June 30 to eligible participants.

As well, the Attorney General’s Office operates the Victim of Violent Crime Compensation Assistance Fund, a state-wide victim benefit fund that may offer compensation to victims for expenses that are not covered by One Fund, other funding sources or insurance. More information about expenditures that may qualify for reimbursement through this fund can be found here or by calling 617-727-2200, ext. 2160.

Additionally, the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance (MOVA), an independent state agency that funds direct service providers, has identified a list of mental health service providers that may be available to assist victims with services provided free of charge. Locally, Cambridge Health Alliance and the Wayside Youth & Family Support Network are among those service providers.
