Middlesex DA Talks Pool Safety in Concord

Middlesex District Attorney Marian T. Ryan dropped by the Beede Center in Concord on Friday, May 31, to talk about pool safety.

As temperatures heat up and locals start thinking about hitting the beach or pool, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan has launched a summer pool safety campaign and partnership with four area pool companies to ensure pools are safe for children this summer.

Ryan dropped by the Beede Center in Concord on Friday, May 31, to kick off the "Splash into a Safe Swim Season" campaign. Watch the video to your right to hear Ryan explain the campaign.

"This is a great time of year -- the time of year when we clean up our yard, open up the swimming pool and head outside to enjoy the beautiful spring and summer weather," said Ryan. "Unfortunately, this time of year can also have tragic results. We must take precautions to keep our children safe from drowning, not only at our lakes and beaches, but in our backyards as well."

The DA's office is joined in this effort by South Shore Granite of Chelmsford, Abramo Pool & Spa of Burlington, Aquatine Pool & Spa of Tyngsborough and R&R Pool & Spa of Littleton.
