Update: Serious Crash in Sudbury Confirmed Fatal

SUDBURY – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Sudbury Chief of Police Scott Nix have confirmed that the crash that occurred earlier on Route 20 in Sudbury was fatal.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. today Sudbury Police responded to Route 20 in the area of Wayside Road for a report of a serious motor vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation suggests that a tractor trailer truck was traveling westbound on Route 20 when a Nissan Sentra traveling eastbound crossed into the westbound lane colliding with the truck head on. The operators were the sole occupants of the vehicles.  Upon arrival police located the driver of the Sentra, a 34-year-old Framingham man, dead on scene.  The driver of the tractor trailer truck was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Sudbury Police and Fire and the Massachusetts State Police Collison Reconstruction Section.

Route 20 in the area of Wayside Road has reopened in both directions.
