Westford Man Arrested and Charged For Alleged Drug Trafficking

WESTFORD - Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Westford Acting Chief of Police Mark Chambers have announced that Mark Timothy Garcia, 34 of Westford, has been arrested and charged with trafficking over 100 grams of Cocaine, trafficking over 200 grams of Methamphetamine, possession of a firearm without a license, possession with intent to distribute a Class A substance, two counts of possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance, possession with intent to distribute a Class C substance, possession with Intent to distribute a Class D substance, possession of ammunition without a license and using a firearm while committing a felony in connection with allegedly dealing Cocaine as well as other narcotics at a residence located in Westford.

Mr. Mark Garcia was arrested today without incident and subsequently arraigned in Ayer District Court. Judge Margaret R. Guzman ordered the defendant to be held on $4000 cash bail with the condition that he wears a GPS monitoring bracelet and remains under house arrest. The next date in this case is April 12, 2021.

On March 6, 2021, Westford Detectives received numerous anonymous tips reporting that Mark Garcia was allegedly dealing narcotics out of his residence located on Cold Spring Road in Westford. After a month’s long investigation, detectives from the Westford Police Department, in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), executed a search warrant on April 7, 2021, at the residence of Mark Garcia as well as the car that was allegedly known to be regularly used by Mr. Garcia. During the execution of this search warrant, investigators found a scale and individual 'deal bags' consistent with drug transactions. Narcotics, cash and other items were seized, including $31,876 cash, one firearm, 109 grams of Cocaine, 4 pounds of Marijuana, 770 tabs of LSD, two bottles of Codeine, 113 grams of THC edibles, 10 grams of Ketamine, 78 grams of MDMA, 5 Oxycodone pills, 41 grams of crushed Amphetamine, six pill bottles full of Amphetamine pills and 415 grams of Methamphetamine. Of the 415 grams of Methamphetamine, approximately 387 grams were clandestinely pressed to resemble trademark “Adderall” pills. These clandestinely pressed Methamphetamine pills are an emergence in the Westford area.

These charges are allegations and the defendant is innocent until proven guilty.

This is an open and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the Westford Police Department with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Additional charges are possible. The prosecutor in charge of the arraignment was Bayley Weese.
