Statement on Serious Pedestrian Crash in Lowell

The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the Lowell Police have confirmed an open investigation into a serious motor vehicle crash that occurred today in Lowell.

Preliminary reports suggest that,  at approximately 5:15 p.m., a 32-year-old male was driving on Stevens Street when he allegedly took a left onto Parker Street and struck a 73-year-old male who was reportedly crossing the street. The 73-year-old was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries sustained during the crash. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene.
