Fatal Crash in Newton Under Investigation 

NEWTON - Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Newton Chief of Police Timothy Cohoon have confirmed the ongoing investigation into a fatal crash that occurred this afternoon.

The preliminary investigation suggests that at approximately 4:30 p.m. today a crash occurred between two vehicles in the area of Walnut Street and Judith Road. The operator of one of the vehicles, a 45-year-old woman, subsequently struck a tree. She was transported from the scene and later died from her injuries.

The operator of the other vehicle did not sustain serious injuries. 

The investigation into the crash is being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Newton Police and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
