Certain information in these records are exempt from public disclosure pursuant to exemption (a) (statutory), exemption (c) (personal privacy), exemption (f) (investigatory materials), and exemption (o) (home addresses) of the public records statute. G.L. c. 4 § 7(26). Specifically, the records you requested include Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI), which is not available to the public pursuant to G.L. v. 6, §§ 162-172, motor vehicle license information, which is exempt from public disclosure pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 2721(a); and an autopsy report, which is exempt from public disclosure pursuant to G.L. c. 38, § 2. In addition, responsive records include medical records and information, autopsy photographs, cell phone numbers, and dates of birth, the disclosure of which may constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy; investigatory materials identifying voluntary witnesses, and the home telephone numbers of Commonwealth employees. This information was redacted. Moreover, certain responsive records are the basic working documents of this Office’s investigatory process and work product, which may be withheld entirely from disclosure pursuant to exemption (f). See Bougas v. Chief of Police of Lexington, 371 Mass. 59, 62 (1976).
