Statement on Non-Fatal Shooting in Woburn

WOBURN - Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Woburn Chief of Police Robert Rufo have confirmed an investigation into a non-fatal shooting in Woburn.

At approximately 2:48 p.m., on Saturday, Woburn Police responded to a report of a gunshot victim being transported to an area hospital. Preliminary investigation suggests that three males were reportedly gathering in a room when a 22-year-old male allegedly discharged a gun, striking a 19-year-old male who was reportedly in the same room. The victim was transported to the hospital suffering from a single gunshot wound to the neck. 

At this time, the 22-year-old male is being charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon Causing Bodily Injury, Improper Storage of a Firearm and Discharging a Firearm Within 500-feet of a dwelling.  

This is an open and active investigation.
