Statement on Natick Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash

NATICK – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Natick Chief of Police James Hicks have confirmed that Clinton Poland, 79, has died following a motor vehicle crash that took place on South Main Street in Natick.

On December 25, 2019, at approximately 5:27 p.m. Framingham Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash that took place on South Main Street in Natick. Upon arrival, officers located Mr. Poland in the southbound lane where two female Good Samaritans were performing CPR. Natick Police subsequently continued lifesaving efforts prior to Mr. Poland begin transported to Beth Israel Hospital. South of their location, authorities located a 2010 grey Honda Civic with windshield damage. The driver, an 81-year-old Natick woman remained on scene. A preliminary investigation suggests that Mr. Poland was crossing the roadway when he was struck by the automobile. Mr. Poland died on January 5, 2020, from injuries suffered in the incident.

This is an open and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Natick Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section. No charges have been filed at this time.
