Statement on Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Lowell

The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and Lowell Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. today in Lowell. The preliminary investigation suggests that an operator of a Ford Mustang was traveling on Pawtucket Boulevard when he struck two pedestrians. The pedestrians, a male and a female, were transported to Lowell General Hospital where they were pronounced dead. The operator of the vehicle was also transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The is an ongoing investigation. Lowell police are conducting the crash reconstruction and no charges have been filed at this time. The identities of the pedestrians is being withheld at this time pending next of kin notification. 

The area of the crash is currently closed to traffic.
