Police Seeking Suspect Identified as Luis Santos in Connection with Fatal Hudson Shooting

HUDSON – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Hudson Chief of Police Michael Burks have confirmed the identity of the suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Karla Rodriguez, 20 of Framingham, that occurred yesterday in Hudson.

Today police obtained a warrant for the arrest of Luis Santos, 23 of Hudson on charges of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Armed Assault with Intent to Murder. These charges are expected to be upgraded pending a ruling from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on the cause and manner of death.

Santos should be considered armed and dangerous and members of the public should not approach him.  Santos is described as a 5’10” white male with brown hair and brown eyes.

The preliminary investigation suggests that Santos fatally shot Karla Rodriguez yesterday around 2:00 p.m. in her vehicle on Howe Street before fleeing the scene on foot. Ms. Rodriguez was transported to an area hospital and then transported by medical flight to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester where she was pronounced dead early this morning. 

This is an active and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Hudson Police and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the District Attorney’s office.
