Pedestrian Struck in Tewksbury Dies, Investigation Remains Ongoing

TEWKSBURY – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Tewksbury Police Chief Ryan Columbus have confirmed that the pedestrian struck on Main Street in Tewksbury on December 9, 2022 has died.

The preliminary investigation suggests that around 5:08 p.m. on December 9, a pedestrian, identified as William Snelbaker, 58, of Boston, was struck in the roadway by the 31-year-old driver of a Lexus sedan who was traveling north at the time. At the scene, police located Mr. Snelbaker with life threatening injuries. He was transported by medical helicopter to Lahey Burlington where he died today. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, remained on scene.

The investigation into this crash remains ongoing and is being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and Tewksbury Police. The crash reconstruction will be conducted by the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section. No charges have been filed at this time.
