Pedestrian Dies Following December 31st Crash in Arlington

ARLINGTON – District Attorney Marian Ryan and Acting Chief of Police Julie Flaherty have confirmed that the pedestrian involved in the December 31, 2019, crash in the area of Chestnut Street at Chestnut Terrace, has died from injuries sustained in the crash.

At 6:50 a.m., Arlington Police were dispatched to the area of Chestnut Street by Medford Street for a report that a pedestrian was struck. Upon arrival, officers determined that the female victim, Ann B. DesRosiers, an 81-year-old Arlington resident, was struck by a 2017 Ford Explorer driven by a 48-year-old Saugus man.

DesRosiers was transported to an area hospital where she died from her injuries on December 31, 2019.

The driver remained at the scene. No charges have been filed at this time.

This is an open and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Arlington Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police CARS Unit.
