Man Charged in Connection with Murder of Stedman Tucker in Lowell

LOWELL – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Kelly Richardson have confirmed that Wesley Lindor, 22 has been charged in connection with the October 22, 2021 murder of Stedman Tucker, 30, in Lowell.

Lindor was arraigned today in Lowell District Court on charges of murder and carrying a firearm. Judge John Coffey ordered the defendant held without bail.  The next date in this case is December 6, 2021.

On October 22, 2021 at approximately 6:16 p.m., Lowell Police received multiple 911 calls regarding shots fired and a person injured on Barker Avenue in Lowell.  Upon arrival police located the victim in the passenger seat of a Toyota Rav-4 suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Lowell Fire Department and Trinity EMS also responded to the scene and attempted life saving measures.  Stedman Tucker was transported to Lowell General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The subsequent investigation revealed that the victim was seated in the car when the defendant allegedly approached the vehicle.  The two men, who were  known to each other, reportedly had a brief verbal exchange before the defendant allegedly opened the door of the vehicle, shot the victim and fled the scene. 

Following the shooting investigators conducted witness interviews, reviewed surveillance video and collected forensic evidence from the vehicle to identify the alleged defendant.

Early this morning the defendant was arrested at a Boston residence and taken into custody without incident.

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Lowell Police.  Boston Police assisted with the arrest of the defendant.  The prosecutors assigned to this case are Assistant District Attorneys Daniel Harren and Whitney Williams.  The victim witness advocate is Dora Quiroz.
