Fatal Pedestrian Crash Under Investigation in Acton

ACTON – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Acton Chief of Police Richard Burrows have confirmed the ongoing investigation into a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred last night on Great Road in the area of Brook Street.

The preliminary investigation suggests that last night, at approximately 6:33 p.m.  a pedestrian, identified as Kevin Shaw, 44 of Sudbury was struck in the roadway by the 17-year-old driver of a Subaru wagon. At the scene, police located Mr. Shaw with life threatening injuries.  He was transported to Lahey Clinic where he later died from his injuries.  The driver, who was the sole occupant, of the vehicle remained on scene.

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and Acton Police.  The crash reconstruction will be conducted by the Massachusetts Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Section. No charges have been filed at this time.
