Fatal Motorcycle Crash Under Investigation in Acton

ACTON – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Acton Chief of Police Richard Burrows have confirmed the ongoing investigation into a crash that occurred on October 31, 2022 on Great Road in Acton involving a motorcycle and another vehicle.  The operator of the motorcycle, Philip Keyes, 64 of Acton was transported from the scene and died from injuries sustained in the crash on November 16, 2022.

The preliminary investigation suggests that around 12:00 p.m. Mr. Keyes was traveling westbound when the crash occurred involving a Subaru Forester traveling eastbound that was begin operated by a 82-year-old Chelmsford woman.  Upon arrival at the scene, first responders provided aid to Mr. Keyes before he was transported by medical flight to Boston Medical Center. The operator and sole occupant of the Subaru Forester remained on scene.

This is an active investigation begin conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Acton Police and the Massachusetts State Police Reconstruction Section.  No charges have been filed at this time.
