Confirmation of Human Bones found in Wakefield

At approximately 10:24 a.m. today a landscaper working on Lakeshore Drive in Wakefield located what appeared to be human bones, shoes and clothing under brush, behind a shed located behind a residence. The preliminary investigation suggests the human remains had been outside for an extended period of time.  Due to the condition of the remains the cause of death and positive identity is not immediately available.  This matter is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Wakefield Police, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
