Body of Missing Lowell Man Recovered

LOWELL – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Kelly Richardson confirmed that today, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the body of Saroun Kouch, 75, of Lowell, was found by officers in a brook located in the area of Lawrence Street at Whipple Street in Lowell.

Saroun Kouch was reported missing from the area of South Street, Lowell, on February 4, at around 10:30 p.m. Following his disappearance, investigators from the Lowell Police, Massachusetts State Police, Tewksbury Police, and NEMLEC RRT (The Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Regional Respond Team) conducted a search of the area where he was last seen on February 4, and asked for the public's help in an attempt to locate Mr. Kouch. The preliminary investigation does not indicate any foul play.

"I want to extend my condolences to the family of Mr. Kouch and thank all the members of the community who collaborated in the search for Mr. Kouch's. We are saddened by the outcome of the search,” said District Attorney Ryan.

“Despite our best efforts, the search for Mr. Kouch had a tragic ending. My deepest condolences go out to his family and a heartfelt thank you goes out to those in the community that assisted us and our law enforcement partners,” said Superintendent Richardson.

The investigation into this matter remains open and ongoing.
