Statement on Lowell Fatal Shooting

LOWELL – The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the Lowell Police Department have confirmed an investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred last night in Lowell.

At approximately 10:28 p.m., Lowell Police responded to a 911 call reporting shots being fired in the area of Loring Street and Westford Street. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 20-year-old male, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The male was subsequently transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

This is an open and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the Lowell Police Department.

Identifying information about the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification. No arrests have been made at this time.
