Statement on Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Framingham

FRAMINGHAM – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Framingham Chief of Police Lester Baker have confirmed an investigation into a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred last night at approximately 9:01 p.m. in Framingham.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the operator of a 1986 Mazda RX7 was traveling in the left travel lane westbound on Route 9 on California Avenue when the driver allegedly struck a pedestrian and then hit the center median. The pedestrian, a male in his forties, was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and was subsequently transported to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries sustained during the crash.

The is an ongoing investigation. No charges have been filed at this time. The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld at this time pending next of kin notification.
