Middlesex District Attorney’s Office Set To Move To Woburn On March 28
WOBURN – The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office will be moving its central office to Woburn on March 28, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone announced today.
The new central office of the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office will be located at 15 Commonwealth Avenue in Woburn. More than 150 employees will be moving to the Woburn location, including a majority of the office’s superior court trial teams, victim witness advocates, support staff, and others. The Cambridge District Court staff will remain in Cambridge at 47 Thorndike Street, across the street from the current courthouse.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office was forced to move from its current location in the Sullivan Courthouse at 40 Thorndike Street in Cambridge as a result of the major renovations that the building will undergo due to asbestos abatement and related building health and safety issues.
“We are looking forward to moving to a new facility that will better allow us to serve victims and the public,” District Attorney Leone said. “We are working to ensure a smooth transition so that we can continue to effectively serve the public and work with our colleagues in the criminal justice system during this move process.”
The Middlesex Superior Court will move its facilities to an address of 200 TradeCenter in Woburn. The Superior Court move date is scheduled for March 15.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office was informed that it would not be a tenant of the temporary Woburn courthouse nor a tenant of the Sullivan Courthouse once renovations are completed, requiring its move to another location.
