Man Charged With Manslaughter In Connection With January Waltham Homicide

WOBURN - A 24-year-old Brockton man has been indicted in connection with the January homicide of Neil Hulteen, 54, at a home in Waltham.

Chrisshane Barrientos, of Brockton, was indicted today by a Middlesex Grand Jury on one count of manslaughter.

An arraignment date has not yet been scheduled.

According to authorities, on January 17, the victim was visiting his girlfriend at her home at 77 Main Street in Waltham. While at the home, the victim and the defendant got into a verbal altercation and the victim was asked to leave the home.

Shortly after he left, the victim returned and attempted to re-enter the home. The defendant punched the victim with his fist, causing the victim to fall back off the outside cement stairs and strike the pavement below, hitting his head.

The victim suffered a fractured skull and brain injuries. He died approximately one week later at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

This case was investigated by Waltham Police and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.

These charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The prosecutor assigned to this case is Assistant District Attorney Marcy Jackson.
