Victim Witness Services Bureau
Victim witnesses and their families in homicide and other cases are entitled by law to services to help assist them through the legal process and protecting your rights as a victim or witness to a crime is the most important job we do.
Our team of experienced prosecutors, state police investigators, and victim witness advocates are dedicated to fighting on behalf of victims and their families. Our office is committed to providing victims with the emotional support they need, while informing them of their rights and helping them navigate through the legal system.
We understand that this may be your first experience with the criminal justice system. The
Middlesex District Attorney’s Victim Witness Services Bureau is available to help you every step
of the way, explaining your rights under Massachusetts General Laws c. 258B, the Victim Bill of Rights. Mass. G.L. c. 258B ensures that a victim or witness of a crime (1) be informed, (2) be present, and (3) be heard. To view the victim’s bill of rights, click here.
